Stephen Curry out at least 2 weeks with sprained right knee

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) If the Golden State Warriors want to cap a record-setting season with a second straight NBA title, they will need to survive the next two weeks without their best player.
Stephen Curry is expected to miss at least two weeks with a Grade 1 sprain of the MCL in his right knee, dealing an unexpected blow to the Warriors' hopes of repeating as champions.
''From our perspective, it's relatively good news,'' general manager Bob Myers said Monday. ''Clearly we don't want to be here getting MRIs at this point of t

Stephen Curry out at least 2 weeks with sprained right knee

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Stephen Curry will miss at least two weeks for Golden State with a sprained ligament in his right knee, dealing a blow to the Warriors' hopes of following a record-breaking season with a second straight championship.
The Warriors said an MRI on Curry's knee Monday determined he had a Grade 1 sprain of the MCL and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
That timetable would lead to Curry missing the rest of the first round of the playoffs and likely at least the first four games in round two if the Warriors are

Chris Andersen

Jul 15 2016, 16:03 PM

Update: N/A

Analysis: Andersen played two years with LeBron James in Miami, so it is not a huge surprise to see the 38-year old veteran join him in Cleveland. While he will likely take over the reserve center spot in the rotation left by Timofey Mozgov, he will have a hard time finding consistent minutes in the rotation. Andersen saw just 5.1 minutes per game in Miami last season before being traded to Memphis. He saw a relatively large jump in workload for the Grizzlies; posting 4.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 18.3 minutes per game.

Jordan Adams

Jun 15 2016, 08:44 AM

Update: N/A

Analysis: Adams has dealt with recurring issues in his right knee, and he underwent surgery in January, ending his season after playing in only two games. This latest procedure will be the third in less than a calendar year, and he figures to miss extended time throughout the summer. The Grizzlies are yet to release a timetable, but it's possible Adams' absence could extend into fall training camp.
