Heat roll past Hornets in Game 7, 106-73

MIAMI (AP) Dwyane Wade took a moment to think during the national anthem on Sunday, reflecting on all the things that his Miami Heat endured this season.
They lost Chris Bosh at the All-Star break to a blood clot for the second straight year, forcing them to dramatically change their playing style. They dealt with injuries, had assistant coach Keith Smart take a leave from the team so he could deal with cancer treatment, and reshaped their roster through trades and free-agent deals.
None of that broke them. Wade saw no reason

Wade, Heat force Game 7 with 97-90 win over Hornets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Dwyane Wade hadn't made a 3-point shot since December, enduring a streak of 22 consecutive misses.
That all changed on Friday night with Miami's season on the line.
The 34-year-old star hit both 3-pointers he attempted, including a big one with 46 seconds left, finishing with 23 points as the Heat beat the Charlotte Hornets 97-90 to force a decisive game in the first-round series.
''If we were going to lose, I was going to go out shooting it tonight,'' Wade said.
Wade scored 10 points in the fourth

Amar'e Stoudemire

Jul 26 2016, 13:12 PM

Update: N/A

Analysis: Though his peak years came with the Suns, Stoudemire opted to sign a one-day contract to retire with the Knicks, with whom he played from 2010 through 2015 after signing a five-year, $99.7 million contract. Stoudemire, 33, was an All-Star in six of his 14 NBA seasons, earning All-NBA First- or Second-Team honors on five occasions. Despite being slowed by knee issues for much of the final third of his career, Stoudemire finished with averages of 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game over 846 appearances with the Suns, Knicks, Mavericks and Heat.

Gerald Green

Jul 23 2016, 07:39 AM

Update: N/A

Analysis: Green has been a journeyman throughout his NBA career, bouncing around between eight teams in nine seasons to go along with stops in the D-League, Russia and China. It will now all come full circle for the veteran swingman, who rejoins the team that drafted him in the first round out of high school in 2005. The Celtics already have a trio of established guards on their roster in Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, and Avery Bradley, but there should be some spare backcourt minutes left over for Green, who occasionally carried the Heat offense for extended stretches while coming off the bench last season. While he figures to open the season as a rotation player, Green will have to fend of youngsters R.J. Hunter and Jaylen Brown for minutes as the campaign progresses.
