Update: Charles (knee) has been placed on the the Chiefs' preseason PUP list, BJ Kissel of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Charles is eligible to be activated from the list and return to practice at any time during training camp. Kissel also relays that coach Andy Reid noted that Charles' placement on the list is not indicative of a setback, with the running back said to be 'on track.' We'll continue to monitor Charles' status closely, but previous reports have suggested that his recovery is going well. For his part, ESPN's Adam Teicher suggested Tuesday that once the team's top RB is back, the 'Chiefs won't limit Charles if he's healthy and he's the same player he was before the knee injury.'
