Update: Harris (foot) who was acquired by the Magic from the Cavaliers on Tuesday, is expected to be waived by his new team, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Harris underwent surgery on his foot in Indianapolis on Tuesday and is expected to miss the next several weeks, if not the remainder of the season, making him just a throw-in to a trade that was mostly about the Magic using their open roster spot to get some cash. The second-year guard appeared in just five games for the Cavaliers this season before requiring surgery on his foot. He's expected to be fully recovered by the summer and could receive an invite to join another team during training camps next fall.
The Cavaliers traded guard Joe Harris to the Orlando Magic in a move designed to save money.
The Cavs will receive a second-round pick in 2017 in exchange for Harris, a second-round selection in 2014. Earlier on Tuesday, Harris underwent surgery on his right foot in Indianapolis and is expected to miss two months.
