Update: Perkins failed to score, but collected four rebounds, one assist, and one block in Monday's 121-116 loss to the Bulls.
Analysis: Perkins took only a single shot in his 17 minutes of court time. The 31-year-old was one of only eight active players for the Pelicans and the only big they had available to come off the bench. He is averaging 17.7 minutes per game during the month of April, but only averaging 3.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Perkins has returned after being out since Oct. 31 with a pectoral injury. He was in the lineup Friday night against the Washington Wizards, although coach Alvin Gentry said before the game he didn't know how much the 6-foot-10, 270-pound Perkins would play because the Wizards use a lot of small lineups.
Gentry says the team expected Perkins to be out about two months. The team had said he was out indefinitely.
